This is 90 frames stacked from a 45 minute static time lapse I set up on the edge of Sunday Pond, Maine located about 6 miles South of Mt Katahdin - truly dark sky country.
The awe-inspiring green and red hues of the Northern Lights spiked and swirled on the horizon while I was photographing the night sky next to Mt. Kineo at Moosehead Lake - October 10, 2013.
