After spending a week trying to capture Comet NEOWISE before sunrise but being denied by clouds and fog, we were finally rewarded with relatively clear skies and a half-illuminated moon to light up the foreground.
Just after sunset on the edge of Mirror Lake in Utah, ice crystals in the atmosphere combined with terrestrial light sources create light pillars in the sky.
Playing around with some shots from Moccasin Arch in Monument Valley. This is a blend of two shots, one for the rock and one for the sky. Zoomed the focal length during the sky shot from 14 to 24mm, then added a radial zoom blur and some other magic in PS. Check out a Behind The Scenes graphic of this image on our Processing page.
