November 4, 20211: Lady Aurora came back and gave us a beautiful display last night after a couple years of playing hard to get. It was great to see her again. I headed back to one of my favorite local ponds in central Maine hoping to capture some good reflections and I was not disappointed. This being November in Maine, the grass around the edges of the pond had a layer of frost on top so I took an extra shot to blend in the frosty goodness. The greens and reds had to be desaturated in post because they were so strong in the RAW file. Notice the violet/purple hues on the right hand side of the show. Oh yeah, and my feet froze. It was really cold. There was frost on my boots. This was taken around 3AM after I set up the gear at like 9PM. And my camera and tripod had frost on them too. Like, a lot. And I went through two camera batteries because it was so cold. But no one cares. They just want to see the pictures. And you know what? I don't blame them. Cause this was fucking awesome. And totally worth it. I set up the camera to shoot for about 7 hours. This shot was taken around 3AM. Dig it.
