This is a 360 degree image of the full Milky Way arch as the moon rises behind Courthouse Towers in Arches National Park, Utah.
The Milky Way stretches across the sky next to Bass Harbor Lighthouse in Acadia National Park. Photographing our night sky at any lighthouse is difficult. This spot is especially demanding due to the intense red light coming from the tower’s fourth order Fresnel lens - this image required determination & some fancy footwork in post-processing. This is a 5 image vertical panorama taken in August 2015. Nikon D600 & 14-24mm @ 14mm f/2.8 – 5 x 25 Secs - ISO 4000
